OnePlus 13 Does Not Support Qi2 Charging, While Samsung Galaxy S25 Does

OnePlus has just announced the global launch of its new flagship, the OnePlus 13, which was released in China last month. The flagship is set to unveil in January 2025 as part of a global launch, The Economic Times reported. The release aligns with the brand’s 11th anniversary, celebrated under the slogan “A11 Eyes Ahead.”
Unfortunately, we’ve confirmed that the OnePlus 13 does not support the Qi2 wireless charging protocol. This is a bit disappointing, especially since our supply chain for Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra cases strongly suggests that Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S-series will include Qi2 support. If Samsung adopts Qi2, it’s likely that other major players like Google Pixel, Motorola, and Asus will follow suit, setting a new standard for wireless charging compatibility. But not for OnePlus, apparently, at least for this specific release.
In this article, we'll share what we know so far about the OnePlus 13 charging specification.

Will the OnePlus 13 Support Qi2?
Our best answer: Nope! The OnePlus 13 will not support Qi2. Instead, it opts for the Qi 1.3.3 specification, as per the WPC listing.
The Qi 1.3.3, defined by the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC), is the latest version of Qi, improving safety, interoperability, and charging speeds. It supports up to 15W wireless charging and includes secure hardware authentication to prevent uncertified chargers from delivering full power, foreign object detection (FOD), and better energy efficiency. It’s backward-compatible with earlier Qi versions and enhances charging safety and reliability for modern devices.
On the page, you will clearly see that the OnePlus 13 has been licensed with Qi 1.3.3.
This means the OnePlus 13 will not have the built-in magnetic array for charging alignment and accessories like what Apple’s MagSafe offers. But does this mean the OnePlus 13 will never join the MagSafe accessory world?
The answer is no! You can still enjoy a MagSafe-style experience with your OnePlus 13—keep reading below to find out how.
OnePlus 13 Can Get MagSafe-Like Accessories!
The OnePlus 13 itself won’t have any magnets built-in to support MagSafe-style charging and accessories. However, OnePlus and Oppo are offering a similar suite of “Mag” accessories and have confirmed that they’ll be available globally with the device. They’ve also mentioned that the cases will be compatible with other MagSafe and Qi2 accessories as well.

Besides the official OnePlus 13 accessories, you can also choose the best thin OnePlus 13 MagSafe case from Fiberborne.
This slim OnePlus 13 cover is made of 600D aramid fiber, with built-in MagSafe. It is only 0.8 oz light and 0.04 inches thin. It could be the best option if you prefer something slim and minimalist.
Conclusion
The OnePlus 13 is definitely one of the best flagships we’ll see in 2025. Sadly, while many world-famous brands are stepping into MagSafe-style designs built into their phones, the OnePlus 13 is one step behind.
Luckily, the official cases and third-party OnePlus 13 MagSafe cases ensure your device can still enjoy MagSafe-like accessories.
